Call for Submissions - Winter/Spring 2018
Studio Potter is calling for contributions to the next issue, Vol. 46, No. 1, Winter/Spring 2018, "Regional Perspectives & Pottery Tours." Submissions due October 15, 2017.
In exploring pottery tours, SP is looking for unique perspectives and stories on the many pottery tour events that take place around the country. What are the successes and failures of regional tours and why do they succeed or fail? What are the different kinds of organizational structures that they have and why? What is your spcific story as a pottery tour studio destination or as a guest artist of one of the tours? Why are pottery tours important in your region or to the fields of ceramics, crafts, and arts? Are you someone who has made a tour a family tradition, either as a maker or as a patron - what is your story?
You may have other questions and answers on either of these topics, but whatever the case, SP would like to include your voice. I welcome submissions of 500 words or more. If you plan to contribute more than 5,000 words, please get in touch with me about your proposal or existing manuscript. Do you want to include your voice, but are unsure about writing? Let me know, we may discuss and arrange other formats, like an interview. Contact me at editor@studiopotter.org for submission guidelines or to discuss your ideas.
