These are choices we self-employed creative folks must make at every turn along the path. Often the decisions reflect our constant concern with financial security and our desire to be regarded as successful amongst our friends, family, and colleagues.
I am often reminded of the opening scene in the movie Out of Africa: as the camera pans over spectacular country, we hear, in a voice-over, "I had a coffee plantation in Africa." That simple statement resonates quite strongly with me.
