Heather Davis is a multimedia and video installation artist living and working in upstate New York. She has taught at Alfred University, UMass Dartmouth, and Iowa State. She is committed to sustainability, and her work focuses on valuing the transcendent qualities of wild space. As a transplant from South Georgia, Heather loves seeing the changing seasons but misses the ocean.

When Clay Meets Performance

Right now, in a one-piece coverall work jumper, Summer performs their piece, Publ!c To!let. Slipcast penis vessel forms are held to the wall in a diagonal line by snugly fitted custom steel wire rests, the tip of each half-engorged, veined penis form pointed into the open top of the one below. Summer leans into the wall and pees into the form that is closest to the height of their effluvient crotch, using another of the same slip-cast penis vessels held in their right hand to direct the flow of urine into the sculpture.
