SP ComingUp Summer/Fall 2016SP welcomes writing on function and/or architecture that encompasses broad interpretations of those themes and challenges the limits of their definitions.  

Function - noun  func·tion  \ˈfəŋ(k)-shən\

  • the special purpose or activity for which a thing exists or is used
  • the job or duty of a person
  • a large ceremony or social event

Architecture - noun  ar·chi·tec·ture  \ˈär-kə-ˌtek-chər\ 

  • the art or science of building; specifically, the art or practice of designing and building structures and especially habitable ones
  • formation or construction resulting from or as if from a conscious act
  • a unifying or coherent form or structure <the novel lacks architecture>
  • architectural product or work
  • a method or style of building
  • the manner in which the components of a computer or computer system are organized and integrated
