Colored Clay Overlays Conceived as Landscapes

Gold pale swatches of light cobalt blues and rutile flesh pinks have formed three heads of sky wandering thru the clouds. Six shades of chromium green form hillocks and nodes of grass intruding into the sky and cropping off the pond below. The pond is composed of eight shades of cobalt blue rippling rapidly across the ground in sharp contrast to the quiet and peaceful blues of the sky. Negative space has been left in the water for the trees to grow thru. Working up from the pond shore are rocky formations of two shades of vanadium yellow and rutile pink. Some intrusions of crocus martis purple may become paths to walk the eye thru the piece. Still this is a fleeting fancy since the purple has to work with the iron red as hot contrasts to the cool spring environment envisioned here.
