Studio Potter 2022-2027 Strategic Plan
Summary of Key Goals
Studio Potter looks to the future with confidence in its potential to evolve and thrive as a ceramic arts nonprofit.Our three to five year strategic priorities are to:
- Migrate to a new website
- Move to a free access for all model
- Enrich our value to readers and members by expanding media formats, including audio articles and videos
- Ensure fiscal sustainability through enhanced fund development
- Build a strong and engaged working board
Key Goals
1. Programming
Goal: Ensure all programs are enriched, enhanced and evaluated annually to ensure alignment with SP’s mission and the community we serve.
- Journal: enrich and enhance the journal through maintaining excellent articles and enhancing the online format for members
- Develop Multimedia Content
- Award Annual Grants for Apprenticeships of $10,000 to five teams
- Launch 50th Anniversary with special programming/journal/event that celebrates our legacy while looking to our future
2. Leadership & Governance
Goal: Enhance the structure of the organization and ensure resources are adequate to meet the current and future growth of SP.
- Evolve our Board
- Expand Staff
3. Audience Development
Goal: Increase engagement, readership, diversity, and visibility by operating as a free educational resource that enriches the field.
- Move to a free access model where patrons support SP, but anyone can read regardless of resources
- Evaluate Branding and Messaging
- Create New Website
- Develop Communication Strategy
- Establish and Expand Our Target Audiences
4. Fund Development
Goal: Develop a scalable infrastructure to increase fundraising activity, donated funds, board involvement in fundraising and to ensure fiscal sustainability.
- Define or create roles and tasks for development committee and staff
- Create an annual fundraising plan with measurable goals that are in alignment with strategic initiatives
- Launch Underwriter Program
- Create a major gift program
