Change is upon us: move into the future with The Studio Potter

The Studio Potter has always been more than a publication. Born in an earlier time of change and social upheaval, our nonprofit organization has long been the voice of a diverse community that shares a love of clay, an adventurous spirit, and a belief in the vitality of ceramic objects. Dedicated to this exchange and independent of advertising, The Studio Potter journal has been the visible track of an ongoing and evolving conversation - a lightning-rod for the vast energy field of contemporary ceramics. The beauty of its design and the liveliness and importance of its contents have given inspiration and pleasure, information and ammunition, to makers, teachers, and users for 37 years. Its seventy-plus issues comprise both a precious archive of our history and a still-relevant resource for the entire field.

In recognition of the community the journal encompasses, we are changing to a membership organization. This new framework, which underscores connection and shared purpose, actually represents a return to SP's original mission and a realignment with its nonprofit structure. We invite readers to participate in Studio Potter as members. For an annual fee of $70 ($35 for students) members will enjoy the following benefits:
