Frequently Asked Questions about Studio Potter...
Q: What exactly is "Studio Potter"?
A: Studio Potter is a non-profit organization. Our flagship publication,
Studio Potter, is a professional journal for potters and others
interested in pottery. The Studio Potter organization was originally
called the Daniel Clark Foundation.
Q: How often is Studio Potter published?
A: The journal is published twice a year in January and July.
Q: Is it true that Studio Potter accepts no advertising?
A: Yes, the journal is advertising-free, and is printed on high-quality paper with
a long-lasting glued binding. We take pride in the professional quality of our journal;
it is not just another magazine.
Q: How does a non-profit organization like Studio Potter survive?
A: We receive a small amount of funding from public and private
grants, Studio Potter survives mainly on income from subscription and book
sales and on donations from individuals. We must also acknowledge that much of our
success comes from the volunteer time and labor provided by our board of directors,
advisors, and members, as well as a staff that consistently performs far beyond the
call of duty.
